Jill Scott must feel bitter sweet about her profile in next month’s Vogue, where the Grammy-winning R&B artist is praised as possibly being Hollywood’s next big thing. The comments were made by Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella, who tragically died yesterday of a hemorrhage following neck surgery. “She is extremely stellar. I think she can be a real star,” raved Minghella, who recently directed Scott as Botswana gumshoe Precious Ramotswe in the upcoming flick “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency.”

Miss NJ:  It would be GREAT if Jill Scott could be a leading lady in Hollywood.  I don’t think it will happen because of her size and color.  Brown skin girls have no place in Hollywood.  You have to pass the paperbag test and Jill unfortunately is just a little too dark.  But maybe I’ll be proved wrong.  I truly hope so because Jill is an amazing positive woman with a beautiful soul.
